T.S. at the King's Head Tavern, 1653
Obv: KINGS HEAD TAVERN = Head of James I
Rev: AT HORSLYDOWN 1653 = S / T A
1.06g.
BW 269, Norweb 4927, Everson 636.
Nearly Very Fine. This is the specimen illustrated in Everson.
It is not certain that the king shown is James I, but as other recent kings had other known busts on 17th century tokens it seems a reasonable assumption.
