I.C. at the Queene of Bohemia

BW 203, Norweb 2543.

Nearly Very Fine.

The Queen of Bohemia was Elizabeth Stuart, the eldest daughter of James I of England (James VI of Scotland), four years older than her brother who became Charles I in 1625.  In November 1619 her husband Frederick V was crowned King of Bohemia, but his reign lasted only a year before he was defeated in battle by the Holy Roman Emperor, Ferdinand II.  As the reign began and ended in the winter months she has often been known as the Winter Queen.  Her husband died young, at the age of 36, but she herself lived to the age of 65, dying in 1662 shortly after her return to England.
